From the browser into Rekordbox: XML, tags and playlists
Beat.Tools analyzes your tracks locally and generates XML in the format Rekordbox imports: collection, playlists and POSITION_MARK entries when cues exist. It also writes BPM and key straight into the MP3's TBPM/TKEY tags — so the data survives even without an XML import.
Analysis runs 100% in the browser. In offline mode, your audio never leaves your computer.
What goes into the XML
Every analyzed track carries the fields Rekordbox reads on import:
- Average BPM (plus an on-device beat grid)
- Camelot key, also writable as TKEY on the MP3
- Cue points as POSITION_MARK
- Your crate's playlists, order included
Recommended flow
1. Open your crate folder in Beat.Tools and run the analysis (all local, no upload). 2. Write TBPM/TKEY into the MP3s — Rekordbox picks these tags up when you reload the track's tags. 3. Export the XML and import it in Rekordbox (Preferences → Advanced → rekordbox xml). 4. Drag playlists from the XML panel into your collection.
M3U and CSV too
If you only need the playlists — for another player or a USB stick — the M3U export covers it. CSV is handy for set planning in a spreadsheet. Beat.Tools doesn't replace Rekordbox in the booth: it preps the crate for it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Rekordbox read Beat.Tools' XML?
Yes. The XML follows Rekordbox's import format (collection + playlists + POSITION_MARK). Import it under Preferences → Advanced → rekordbox xml.
Do I need the XML import to get BPM and key into Rekordbox?
Not necessarily. If you write TBPM/TKEY into the MP3s with Beat.Tools, Rekordbox reads the values straight from the tags when you reload the track.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
Not for analysis: analysis, tagging and XML generation all run in the browser, on your device. In offline mode nothing uploads; with an account, analyzed files are kept in your private cloud storage.
Does it work with WAV and FLAC?
Analysis, yes (MP3, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, M4A, OGG). TBPM/TKEY tag writing targets MP3; for other formats the values travel via XML.
Try it on one track from your crate
No account, no upload. Analyze, export the XML and open it in Rekordbox.
